Thank you so much for your installment at Scripps Memorial Hospital this year. I recently met you at your booth at the Sand Castle Contest this year. I was the one who had emergency heart surgery at Scripps Memorial this year.
While the surgery saved my life, it was a very long and arduous road to recovery. I grew up in Newport Beach and one of the few things that brought me solace was taking the wheel chair or walker down the hall and gazing into your artwork. It magically transported me to a happier place. On my best days it provided me with inspiration to get well. On my worst days, it helped me to forget where I was and have a mini mental vacation.
As a writer, I appreciate how tough the creative calling can be. Please do not stop. Please continue your beautiful artwork. It transcends emotion and speaks to people. My husband and I plan on buying a few pieces once we pay off the horrific medical bills this year has brought.
