Fine Art Print Buyer's Guide: Sizes, Materials & Framing
Choosing a piece of art shouldn't be confusing. Here's everything you need to pick the right print, size, and finish for your wall — in plain English. Still unsure? Ask me directly.
1. Choose your material
Every image is offered in three finishes. Same work of art — just a very different feel for each.
Face Mount Acrylic (I call the ones I make Museum Mount)
My finest presentation, and the truest to my Luminism work. The archival paper print (that reflects like shinny metal and is printed with archival pigmented ink that costs more than blood) is face mounted to 1/4 inch optically clear cast acrylic and sandwiched on the back with a 1/8 inch sheet of the same cast acrylic. Giving it depth, clarity, and a luminous, glow that makes the light in the image come alive. Choose it frameless for a clean modern edge, or set in a driftwood floater.
The ultimate finish — Tru Vue® TruLife® Acrylic. For the collector who wants the best made, I offer the Museum Mount in TruLife — the highest-grade acrylic in the world for face-mounting fine art. Anti-reflective nearly to the point of invisibility, blocking 99% of UV and shrugging off scratches ordinary acrylic can't. All the depth and glow of acrylic, with the glare gone almost entirely.

Giclée Canvas
The same archival pigment printed is used on this fine art canvas. Warmer and more textural than acrylic, with no glare — lighter and more affordable, still museum-quality. A gallery-wrapped classic that suits almost any room.
Ready-to-Frame Premium Luster Photo Paper Prints
The most accessible way to own the work. Printed on premium luster photo paper in standard sizes, shipped flat and unframed so you can frame it your way. The same media that your school portraits or team photos are on. These prints are also part of my limited editions. Same image, same gallery quality — ready for the frame of your choice.
2. Pick your size
There are standard sizes — and bigger, smaller or cropped by commission. Scale changes everything, so picture the wall.
I offer free custom mock-ups. Just email me the image you want to see and a photo of the wall you want it placed on.

3. Finish the frame
One of a kind ways to finish it.
- Frameless — clean, modern, edge-mounted and ready to hang. The image does the talking.
- Wide or Flat Driftwood Floater — a handcrafted driftwood floater that adds warmth and a coastal soul without boxing the image in.
- O.B. Reclaimed Pier Wood — the rarest option. Frames handmade from wood I salvaged from the Ocean Beach Pier before its demolition: a genuine piece of the pier, made permanent. A limited keepsake for anyone with memories there.

4. Care for your print
Made to last generations. Archival inks and materials resist fading for decades. For acrylic Face Mounts (I like to call what I do Museum Mount), dust with a soft, dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth — never a paper towel or any Windex (ammonia based) cleaners.
Keep any print out of direct, all-day sunlight and it will hold its color for a lifetime.
5. Commissions (like the pentaptych below)
Want something made for your space? I take commissions — a specific location, a custom size, or a large-scale statement piece built around your wall.
One of my favorite formats is the pentaptych: a single sweeping scene carried across five panels floating on top of one another - that all hangs as single work. It moves a landscape through a room the way one frame never can. Ideal for wide walls, lobbies, and open living spaces, and available in custom dimensions up to billboard size. Tell me the wall and the view you have in mind, and I'll build it.
